ME February Design Series

Hi there! Sorry for the delay in getting this out today! It's been a crazy one!

Today I am sharing a couple cards over on the ME blog using the True Friend stamp set. I mixed things up a bit this time by using the gold Heart Stickers in an unconventional way.

I first used the negative space from the heart stickers to act as a mask for the green hearts.

I masked off the outside edges with post-it notes.

I used the Mojito ink and gently inked up the hearts to give them an "ombre" effect. This was done by applying less pressure as I worked towards the top.

The mask should be pulled off slowly as to not rip the cardstock.

After trimming the kraft cardstock down to the desired size, I adhered it to the white cardstock base. I stamped the True Friend sentiment onto the Bold Banner diecut and popped it up with foam tape.

I also created this next card by randomly placing the heart stickers on the background and then dabbed on the Bubblegum ink. Once the ink was set, I gently peeled off the stickers to reveal the original white base color.

I mixed up the sentiment a bit by masking off the words from the True Friend set onto the Love Quotes diecut.

ME Highlight - Sketchy Letters

Sketchy Letters is a really fun alphabet. Lots of possibilites with this one! I chose to highlight the HB2U greeting by popping up the negative space left over from die-cutting the Love Quotes - Creative Cuts die.

The little bird from the Love Quotes set finishes it all off.

ME Highlight - Origami

Today's highlight is the Origami set. This is a very fun set of images that could easily be stamped several times and fussy-cut to create a very cool result. I chose to go with the simple route and stamp on patterned paper.

I love that the brown polka-dots worked perfectly as little eyes for the cat.

A Parent's Love - Printer's Tray

I didn't get a chance to wish you Happy Valentine's Day, so I'm doing it today! I made a sweet collage of my parent's over the years using the 7 Gypsie's Printer's Tray and stamps from Purple Onion Designs:

I have a plan to make more of these with Jon's family pictures, along with our own family pics. I hope to display them all on one wall along with random found letters. I will share once I get this project done. :)

ME Highlight - Honey Bunny

This Honey Bunny set makes me yearn for Spring! I love the two bunnies sitting together, and thought it would be fun to make a trio of bunnies with one of them holding a valentine using the conversation heart from the exclusive ME+SSS Filled With Love set.

And those polka-dots on the one bunny? Just draw them in and color away!

Here's what I came up with using this sweet set:

I die-cut the jar lid and heart using the matching dies. The lid is embossed in pewter and glossy accents provided a shiny finish to all of the hearts.
