PL with ME Stamps + B/W Photos

Morning! Today I am showcasing the banners from the Be You set. I love banners and repeated the use of them throughout this PL page. I chose some fun ink colors for the banners to accent the B/W photos with pops of black accents including the hot-air balloon from the Sunny Skies set.

I love how this 4x6 card turned out. I originally started with a 4x6 card from my PL stash, then cut it down a bit to add the fun grid background, also from the Be You set. Here's a close-up to show the dimension:

I added some liquid pearls to the hot-air balloon. The "Good Day" sentiment is a portion of the original sentiment from the Up & Away set. This was stamped onto the back of the flag that's from the previous PL spread.

Just remember that all of those "factory" 3x4/4x6 cards from PL can be altered in some way to suit your needs, even the most basic ones!

Altered Pages with Big Words!

Morning! Today I am sharing an ongoing project I am doing with the More Little Happy Moments class being taught over at Studio Calico by Maggie Holmes. I am in love with her kit that includes a book that is eventually completely altered by yours truly! My book's theme is about happy moments in my DD Haley's life over the last 14 years. I have completed three spreads so far, including the one I am sharing today. I love the Big Words stamp set from ME this month, and had to incorporate them into this altered book in some way. I added the big word "Love" onto a notecard that fits perfectly into the vellum envelope that is sewn on to the base of the layout. I will be adding a note on the back of the notecard. Loving the big words in different ink colors!

The class is set up to give us challenges (topic & technique) each week, so that has been helping me to get my mojo on. The pockets on the left page was done by folding over two pages and sewing them together. I was able to add in a postcard from Haley's grandparents from the year 2003 when these photos were taken, along with a tag of her and Grandma.

The Today Was stamp was perfect to add to the envelope.

This has been such a fun adventure and if you'd like to see more pages done, please check back here in the next few weeks. If you haven't altered a book before, you should give it a try. It's addicting! NOTE: If you do alter a book, be sure to remove chunks of pages to allow enough thickness for those dimensional pages!

Summer Stamp Release!

ME Stamp Highlight: Up and Away

Morning! Today's highlight over on the ME blog is the set Up and Away. It is such a fun set & there are so many possibilities using the balloons, umbrella & cute little characters. On my card below I tried to give the impression of the monkey floating down with one balloon after losing the big bunch of balloons. It works perfectly with the sentiment.

Altered book + ME Stamps

So I joined the More Happy Little Moments class over at Studio Calico this past month and have had a blast altering the book they included in Maggie Holmes' kit. It's addicting and I will want to do more...really. We had to choose a theme/subject for the book, so this book is about happy moments with Haley over the years. Check it out:

See the date stamp on the yellow ticket? That's from the ME Wanderlust set. It fit perfectly on the yellow ticket that came with the kit.

Of course I had to use the Today Was set on this page...it's one of my faves. I just folded it in half to create tabs for this shortened page.

I'll have more pages to share in the next few weeks...be looking for one yet this week using more ME stamps (hint, hint). I also will be doing another book for Emma, so that will be coming up also.
