Over the years Haley has collected quite a few costumes from Halloween. Her grandma would sew up some pretty fancy dresses and I haven't had the heart to dispose of them. Since the collection has started, Emma has made full use of these dresses and plays dress-up with them all of the time. This layout is all about her choice of clothing (from one glove to a skirt worn around her neck as a shawl). Love it.
This is my spin on PL...I divided the bigger photo to fit in the 3x4 pockets, then added elements on the outside to create texture and depth (similar to what I would do with a traditional layout). I tried to stitch on the outside edges so that in the end I only ended up with one pocket that is stitched through on the other side. When thinking ahead, I was able to add in a filler 3x4 card on the back side prior to stitching, so now it is ready for my next week/layout (see next photo).
I'll still be able to accessorize this 3x4 card by adding elements to the pocket protector.
I incorporated an interactive element here by writing a quote related to the theme.
I love the "Be Seated" set...so fun to color and added a regal feeling to the journaling card. I also used POD's Solid Journaling Lines stamp to created the journaling lines and lightly used a pink Copic marker to enhance the lines.
Stitching a stamped word and chipboard arrows simply draw your eye to a particular spot on a photo.
