It's all about men at Hero Arts this week & the challenge is to create a "manly" card (or have your manly man make one himself!). I really want my hubby to make something with my stash...I'm thinking he could make a pretty "mean" card...he is a pretty good designer. :) I'm smiling because my DH (darling husband) is a civil engineer & can magically design what he wants on the computer...let's see what he's capable of with paper...hee! He said he would try to "fit" it in this evening...hmmm. I will definitely post all about it if he follows through!
For these cards, I used the new Hero Arts DigiKit Vintage-Lifestyle digital images...love these! I am so inspired by Lucy's cards using the digital elements. In case you haven't heard...Lucy is now designing for Hero Arts! Stop over at her blog to check out her beautiful work...you'll love her sweet style & creative use of stamps. Plus...she is a sweetie to boot!!
I wanted to include the sentiment under the umbrella, so I printed off the digital image several times & created a mini card on top. Here are some detailed photos...
Stamps: HA CG102 Antique Brocade cling & S5215 Clouds; Digital Image: HA Vintage Lifestyle; Ink: Ranger Distress Ink (Walnut Stain), VersaMark Watermark & Memories Black; Patterned paper: My Mind's Eye; Cardstock: DMD; Bling: Hero Arts
Isn't that fun?!? I also love this card by Lucy and was inspired to use the HA DigiKit Vintage-Travel.
Stamps: HA S5215 Clouds; Digital Images: HA Vintage Travel (car & map lines); Ink: Ranger Distress Ink (Walnut Stain); Patterned paper: WeRMemoryKeepers (map is printed on top); Cardstock: HA Brown Notecard; String: Craft Supply Store; Font: 2 Peas in a Bucket "Renaissance"; PrismaColor Colored Pencils & Gamsol (to color in car)
There's still time to participate in this challenge...you have until midnight tonight!
We are enjoying our holiday weekend here in Iowa...have a good rest of the weekend & a wonderful start to the new week!!
Catch you later!
