Happy Thanksgiving to those celebrating in the states!
Yesterday was reveal day for the December Studio Calico kits and the Mama Elephant design team has been cooking up their creative goodies again using the card kit and add-on. Go check out the links to everyone's cards here. Mama Elephant is also giving away a Blue Note kit and Cole kit here!
My first card was using Blue Note (main card kit):
Hello again! Today Studio Calico is featuring the Mama Elephant Design Team here. It is such a pleasure to work with Studio Calico's kits, especially when they feature ME stamps! Here is a sneak peek of the card I made.
I love the alphas from Mama Elephant, and the new Inline Letters stamp set and matching die are no exception. For some reason these letters remind me of the "Hollywood" sign, and then I came up with the idea of having the letters placed in front of some mountains, similar to the famous sign:
I first cut the inline letters, then stamped them the traditional way. Kryssi has a quick video showing her technique for stamping these letters perfectly onto the diecut pieces here. I will remember to do this next time, but the offset letters on this card sort of add to the rustic, homespun feel. Inking them up a bit with a distress ink afterwards also helped lend a rustic feel.
I stamped the homes (from the SC Cinnamon Spice Kit) multiple times so that I could allow the mountains to be layered. Just simply stamp on the base layer, add a couple mountains, stamp again and repeat for the top layer of mountains. I also inked up the edges of the mountains to add more depth. The gold glitter paper for the snow-capped mountains is just the perfect touch to add a little sparkle to this homespun card.
See what the other design team members cooked up here.
Be sure to stop back Monday for my ME Design Series using the Fair Feathers set.
This is such a fun set. I think my fave part is the sentiment that I used on the gift card tag below. It immediately makes you want to open up the tag to see what's inside. The sequins are next for my faves, and I used them to decorate the cute tree I diecut from my Silhouette (all credits below).
The sequins showed up as small circles when embossed, so if you want them to look as they are intended, embossing with thick silver embossing powder would not be the thing to do. ;-) I learned this after I did the embossing, but really liked how it looked, so stuck with it.
Here's a closeup:
And a look at the inside:

I cut the mountains with my Silhouette, inked the snow-caps by placing them onto a white ink pad, then layered all the other pieces around them. The date stamp from this set is perfect for adding layers too, as I stamped two so that I could pop up the inner month circle.

Welcome to the Mama Elephant Design Team blog hop! Our November release is now live and available for purchase in the store. If this is your first stop on the hop, you can find the beginning here (there is also a blog list towards the end of this post).
Today I am sharing a card using the Four Seasons set. It is so versatile, that you could make a variety of themed cards with this set.
I chose to go with a Christmas card using the addition of the "joy to you and me" stamp from the SC Cinnamon Spice kit as an accent. The sentiment fit perfectly over the middle circle of the date stamp from this set. The numbers work well to create a background along with the sweet snowflake.
To celebrate the new release, Mama Elephant is giving away one of each of the new stamps released! Winners will be chosen at random from the collective blogs in the Stampede. Winners will be announced on the blog on the last Stamp Highlights Day.
