Girlfriends & Windows

This is a good day.  It is only 38 degrees outside right now...but the sun is shining.  That makes me happy.  I have sent off my watermelon card to be photographed...that makes me happy.  I had good results from some biopsies I had done last week...that makes me happy.  I have such great family & friends...that makes me happy.  I am blessed with such a wonderful husband & children...that makes me happy.  :)  I know...I am feeling a bit relieved today & needed to gush.  :)

Ok...so now I am happy to show you two cards that I have done recently.  The first is one I made up for Purple Onion Designs.  I am loving the Doodle Flower Set...thanks for bringing them to my attention, Sheila!  ;-)  BTW, Sheila is a new friend of mine...hugs to you in England!  :)

I created the following card for the Hero Arts "window" challenge.  I wanted to mimic a storefront window and thought the CL303 High Heels stamps would work well for my idea.  Acetate was used for the window...sort of hard to see.  I used foam squares to separate the background from the acetate to allow room for my 3D items (brads & lace curtain).

Is it spring yet?

This is the question my 3 year old Emma is asking me these days.  Sadly, spring will not be here for a little bit.  I am looking forward to less sickness, coats being washed & tucked away for the season and catching some sun.  My husband, Jon, probably wishes I would add fishing on my list, so here you go.  I am looking forward to fishing!  :)

Hero Arts is holding a "spring" challenge & I wanted to at least accomplish something today...feeling a bit sluggish, for some reason.  I incorporated Emma's "spring" question into the card...hope you like!  Thank you to Karen, my dear friend, who gave the giraffe & its set to me for my birthday.  You are a dear, Karen!

I am truly enjoying the shapes challenge this week at Hero Arts.  This is a busy time for birthdays in our family, so I whipped up a couple.  I do have to say that both of these took some time to make.  I am hoping to make up templates to share...look for an update on that soon.

seeing green...

I am loving' the color green right now...especially "citron."  I have added to my cards for St. Patty's Day...here is my submission for the "shapes" challenge going on at Hero Arts.  I used a leprechaun hat shape from clip art and then proceeded to add stamped images to the existing shape.

Girls' Night Out

Last night was girls' night out for my friends &I...woo hoo...I really needed a few hours of me time!  We went to see the movie "Confessions of a Shopaholic" and had dinner.  Loved the movie so much that it motivated me to use the Glam set from Hero Arts.  I would like to dedicate this card to my friends.  Thanks for such a great time ladies!  I also want to say "thank you" to my hubby for staying with the kids...he is a good husband & daddy.  Love you!

thank you + two give-aways

I would like to thank my readers...10,000 times!  Yes, I have reached 10,000 views & would like to celebrate!  But first, I made a card for you...yes, you!  :)  Hero Arts has a "little things" challenge this week.  The challenge is to make a card using stamps 1 1/2 inches or smaller.  I wasn't sure what to use until I spotted the donut-shaped "Thanks So Much" stamp from the Clear Design Thank You Messages set (CL142).  I thought it would make a great tire swing...so here you go!

 

Ok...now for the give-aways!  I am offering up two different stamp sets.  One is from Heidi Grace Designs and the other from Memory Box.  Aren't they adorable?!?!

Happy Birthday Haley!

My Haley turns 10 today.  I made her favorite cupcakes to take as a class treat...Chocolate Cheese Cupcakes.  They are complete yumminess...they have a cheesecake/chocolate chip filling inside.  She is such a blessing & we absolutely adore her fun & quirky ways...have a good one Haley!  Love you!

I also have a card to share...I made up a Saint Patrick's Day card for Purple Onion Designs and thought it would be fun to challenge myself to make a few "luck of the Irish" cards for my friends.  Here is the first one...be on the lookout for more fun St. Patty's cards.
